TASK 2: How to thread a needle

1 Pinch the thread flat between your thumb and Fig 3
forefinger. (Fig 1)

3 Leave a tail of a couple of inches so the thread doesn’t
pull out. (Fig 4)

2 Slide the needle onto the thread. (Figs 2 & 3)

TASK 3: How to hold the needle while stitching

1 Pinch grip: Use your thumb and middle finger to Fig 2
pinch the needle shaft, not too tightly. (Fig 1)

2 Index finger stabilization: Rest your index finger on
top of the needle to control its direction. (Fig 2)
3 Thread control: Keep the thread close to the fabric
near the needle to avoid pulling it out while stitching
with thumb. (Fig 3)
